Jablonec nad Nisou

Our guest will be photographer Jiří Jiroutek, who will present his book titled I’m Not Going to Ještěd Anymore.

About the publication in the author’s words:
After the book The Ještěd Phenomenon, this is the second title I am publishing that focuses on the architecture and stories of the most famous buildings in Liberec.
A place not only for shopping a wide range of goods but also a place for meeting up, or just wandering and looking into shop windows, is how I remember the Ještěd Shopping Center. The building with yellow ceramic cladding amidst the gray surrounding development was one of the attributes of Liberec. It has been gone for ten years, and here is its story….

Jiří Jiroutek is a contemporary Czech photographer living in Liberec, having studied at the Institute of Creative Photography at the Silesian University in Opava (graduated 1994). Since 1991, he has lived and worked as a freelance artist and holds the title of QEP (Qualified European Photographer). His work focuses on architecture and portrait photography. He has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions both at home, in Europe, and in the United States.
