Visiting Planners is a new series of interviews and lectures on research and practice in urban policy. Five guests between May and June will conduct a series of two-day tours in Brno and Prague, where they will present their work in various defined roles:

Javier Burón Cuadrado (Basauri, Biscay 1970) is the housing manager of the City of Barcelona. He was appointed as the chief executive manager for housing by the Mayor of Barcelona Ada Colau in 2015. As a legal and economic expert, he was an advisor to the public, cooperative, and social sectors in Bilbao and the Basque Country and co-founder of the consulting company URBANIA ZH Gestión. He was the director of housing planning and deputy minister for housing and social services in the Basque government. He worked in public companies focused on housing, land funds, rental housing, mobilization of abandoned housing stock, and social regeneration of cities. He studied economic law (University of Deusto). He studied international and European law (KU Leuven), a master's in fiscal economics (University of Deusto), and business administration (Institute of Applied Economics of the Basque University).
Josep Bohigas (Barcelona, 1967) is the CEO of Barcelona Regional, the metropolitan agency for urban development. He has led the public agency for strategic planning, urbanism, and infrastructure, Barcelona Regional, since 2015. He studied architecture at the School of Architecture in Barcelona (ETSAB UPC), at Columbia University in New York, and at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. He is a lecturer in the master's program at ETSAB-UPC Foundation. He was a member of the jury for the National Prize for Architecture and Design (FAD). As an architect, he designed several realized buildings for culture and social housing. He led cultural projects themed around housing (Barraca-Barcelona, 2005; Piso Piloto, 2015). For his projects, he has won the FAD award multiple times (1998, 2007, 2009), the Barcelona Design Award (2007), and the Architecture Award (2014).
