Visiting Planners is a new series of interviews and lectures on the research and practice of urban policy. Five guests between May and June will conduct a series of two-day tours in Brno and Prague, where they will present their work to the audience in variously defined roles:
#1 Gideon Boie / BAVO critic and theorist of the political dimension of urban planning
How much democracy can architecture take? We begin with a lecture on urban projects in Brussels and how democracy in cities ranges from acts of civil disobedience to hyper-obedience. We will also discuss how democracy not only influences the urbanization process of cities but fundamentally transforms the discipline of design as well.
