Vladislav Razím – Medieval Urban Fortifications

PhDr. Vladislav Razím from NPÚ will present the basic questions and results of the research on medieval urban fortifications, which he has been dedicated to for decades. In recent years, the author has published monographs focusing on the city walls in the Czech Republic and Europe. The fortifications had a defensive function, but also a significant symbolic meaning; their remains are now an important part of the character and heritage value of historical settlements.
