Mentors – architects: prof. Z. Fránek, doc. P. Hájek, prof. I. Vaško, theory: prof. J. Kroupa
Tutors: architects Jiří Vítek, Shota Tsikolia, Jan Pernecký

Participants will interpret the architectural language and the fundamental theme of the pioneer of avant-garde architecture using contemporary design techniques.

Participants will analyze the assigned problematic site in the urban structure, followed by analyzing the works of J. B. Santini in Žďár. New architecture will emerge at the intersection of the new and the old. The workshop will occur in 3 phases. Morning tutorials will start with a short thematic lecture, and afternoons will be reserved for independent creative work with the support of tutors. Evenings will feature a lecture concluded with a round table discussion. Students will have the opportunity to consult with mentors throughout the day. The workshop will end with presentations by participants along with comments from mentors and the public. All lectures will be accessible to the public. Participants will be able to choose from various analog techniques to generative design, aligning themselves with individual tutors (various techniques, Maya, Rhino – Grasshopper).

The workshop will be complemented by lectures from mentors and a final presentation by participants. Following the workshop, there will be an event Urban Interventions, where participants can publish their projects.

The workshop will take place at the Žďár Castle – originally a monastery, where Santini remodeled the basilica.

* Accommodation – we are negotiating discounts at local accommodation facilities and the possibility of staying with local residents for free.
