Rigips, Ltd. introduces new generation insulations – the gray foam polystyrene NeoFloor and GreyWall. Graphite particles have been incorporated into the structure of the polystyrene, which effectively reflect heat back to its source and significantly improve thermal insulation. The products are intended for professional thermal insulation of wall and floor structures and for similar applications with the highest demands for insulation efficiency and high compressive strength. Ideal for low-energy and passive houses and everywhere maximum insulation is required with minimal insulation thickness.

The growing demands of investors for improving the insulation properties of individual structures compel manufacturers to develop increasingly effective types of thermal insulation. Possibilities for enhancing the existing properties of polystyrene were found in the area of the radiant component of heat (radiation). Research focused (e.g., similarly to foam glass) on micro-particles of graphite, which were intended to ensure that each cell of the foam polystyrene with an extremely thin graphite surface acted as a miniature thermal mirror. It was "only" necessary to find a way to incorporate the graphite particles into the polystyrene structure so that this treatment preserved the other excellent properties.

GreyWall 033 for professional wall insulation
The gray polystyrene GreyWall 033 is primarily designed for professional insulation of wall structures (for ETICS facade insulation systems) and for similar applications with the highest demands for insulation efficiency, i.e., low-energy and passive houses. At the same time, the new GreyWall material is used wherever maximum insulation is needed with minimal insulation thickness, for example, when insulating thermal bridges. In addition to improving thermal insulation, the change in the color of the panel and the related reduction in light reflection will also have positive effects, especially in applications under sunny weather.

An example of the application of the GreyWall 033 material on an insulated wall with a total thickness of 400 mm
with a thermal resistance R = 8.1 m².K/W, which means a heat transfer coefficient U = 0.121 W/(m².K).

In combination with triple glazing, it represents a typical wall construction of low-energy and passive houses.

NeoFloor 031 for professional floor insulation
The gray polystyrene NeoFloor 031 is primarily intended for professional insulation of floor structures and other applications with the highest demands for insulation efficiency and high compressive strength (e.g., low-energy and passive houses).
This product is mainly designed for applications where costly PUR insulations are currently used. Unlike PUR insulations, no CFC or HCFC compounds (known as freons) are used in the production of NeoFloor insulation, making it significantly more environmentally friendly. At the same time, the new NeoFloor material is starting to be used where maximum insulation must be achieved with minimal thickness, e.g., when insulating shipping containers, construction details, technological equipment, etc., meaning everywhere there isn’t enough space for traditional insulations.
