Surface finishes of concrete products PRESBETON

In addition to the diverse color variants of today's modern industrially produced concrete products from the field of small prefabrication, there is also a wide range of additional surface treatments applied. Concrete paving stones, masonry blocks, and surface pavements of the traditional domestic brand PRESBETON are no exception in this regard.

To enhance the appearance of the surface or to achieve a certain utility purpose (e.g., to improve slip resistance), various additional mechanical surface treatments of concrete products are used. Below in the table are several examples of commonly applied treatments:

shot blasting	Uniform gritty surface, enhances the used aggregate
pebbling	Resembles the rough surface of natural stones
rummaging	Chipping edges, corners, and surfaces throughout the whole volume
hammering	Similar to rummaging while preserving sharper edges. Only the surface and edges of the tread area are treated
washing out	Exposing the used aggregates by washing out the cement paste
grinding	Smooth terrazzo surface
curling	Brushing the surface, smooth surface with a more plastic structure created by protruding aggregate grains
splitting	Imitation of the surface of natural split stone. Particularly for masonry elements.
grinding+shot blasting	Combination - in the first stage grinding and subsequent fine shot blasting

In combination with a range of colored concrete mixes, or when using aesthetically interesting aggregates of suitable fractions and representations, it is possible to create a large number of visually interesting and attractive forms of the final surface with these additional mechanical treatments.
