Walls and fences mostly divide. States, nations, neighbors. The company mmcité plus from Bílovice, however, comes up with a wall that connects. They developed, designed, and manufactured the sound barrier wall noba, which is new in every respect.
The company engaged students from the local elementary school in Bílovice to experience how the face of public transport constructions comes to life. Their task was to create a graphic design proposal for the wall, which was constructed at the border of the company's premises and a local gas station. noba thus connected the school, the community, and a private company. "We also wanted to show the students how they can influence the public space themselves. The buildings and things that surround them every day. It will be useful for them in life when they want to advocate for something with local councilors or MPs. They will already know that the space around us can also be co-created," says Petr Vavrouška, the commercial director of mmcité plus.
The sound barrier wall noba thus offers not only to the public but also to designers and architects the opportunity to influence its final appearance. They can create original and functional soundproofing for roads, railways, and cities. The motif is derived from computer graphics, which is created pixel by pixel. Techniques known from computer aesthetics are transferred to the exterior of the city or landscape. Thanks to a simple shortcut, text inscriptions or natural or abstract motifs can be captured in the final images. "I believe that this sound barrier wall will become a distinguishing feature of our community. A memorable gateway upon entering Bílovice. An outdoor gallery," asserts the mayor of the municipality, Petr Fusek.
Noba also has an ecological dimension. The primary material of the panel consists of used tires. Four pieces from one passenger car are consumed for 1 square meter of wall. Currently, mmcité plus is constructing the sound barrier wall noba at the bypass of Třinec and on the railway in Slovakia.
