Children in Holice in the Pardubice region have one reason to find something positive at the end of the summer holidays. The town has succeeded in completing the new building of the local Art School, and its doors will open to students as planned on September 1st. The exceptional nature of the new building is enhanced by minimal energy requirements. The new building of the Karel Malich Art School is constructed to passive building standards. In addition to low operational costs, it will always offer students fresh air without the need to open windows.

The grand opening of the passive Art School in Holice will take place on Monday, September 1, 2014, at 1:00 PM.
The building is located at Holubova Street 1234, in Holice.

The Karel Malich Art School provides education in music, dance, and visual arts, and serves as a meeting place for the public during cultural events, lectures, and conferences. The building has over 2000 square meters of floor space, eleven soundproof classrooms, one large community hall, and two smaller ones. Together with the kindergarten in Prague-Slivenci and the senior residence in Modřice, it ranks among the first public buildings in the Czech Republic to meet energy-efficient passive building standards.
