The development of technologies and materials allows manufacturers to respect modern interior trends while simultaneously improving the functionality of standard doors. Straight lines and aesthetic purity are becoming the basic design requirements of most modern projects, whether they are public buildings, apartment blocks, or private residential projects. The necessity to harmonize the most striking elements of interiors leads architects and investors to eliminate pronounced door frames and increasingly install doors with hidden frames.
“Minimalism does not just mean having little furniture in the interior - it is an approach leading to the harmony of all interior elements based on simplicity and elegance, for which doors with hidden frames are absolutely ideal,” explains Jan Krejčí from the company DORSIS.
The essence of installing hidden frames is not only an elegant solution for the door space and aligning the doors with the line of the wall. The Dorsis concept provides builders with entirely new design possibilities - doors can duplicate the color and texture of the wall and blend in with the surroundings, or we can apply a contrasting color or material to make the doors play a more prominent role in the interior.
The nearly infinite variability of surfaces allows for completely hiding the door area either with a coating (1-3mm), cladding, or wallpaper. In rooms surrounded by furniture (kitchens, wardrobes), laminate or veneer of the same design as the furniture can be used, thereby harmonizing the doors with the entire interior. The doors Fortius can of course be used as a contrasting element, whether by using wooden veneers or, for instance, by spraying colors from RAL or NCS color samples.
Some rooms in quiet zones (such as bedrooms and children's rooms) require sound insulation from common daily spaces. Similarly, in selected offices or meeting rooms, investors will appreciate the sound separation from the regular operations of the office building.
In such cases, it is necessary to opt for an modified internal structure of the doors and technical accessories that ensure acoustic attenuation. Doors with a hidden frame Fortius Akustik can provide acoustic attenuation of Rw 27 to 37 dB due to the automatic threshold bar and modified internal structure (hollow chipboard filling or soundproof board), which practically eliminates common noise.
“We offer the entire hidden frame-door concept in variations that meet the specific requirements of individual users - fire resistance, acoustic attenuation, or security. Our goal is to enable the installation of doors with hidden frames in the interior of the entire project or building,” adds Jan Krejčí from Dorsis.
