Baseboards are sometimes mistakenly considered an insignificant detail. The opposite is true; inappropriate solutions usually are immediately noticeable. The concealed baseboards Dorsis Linus represent a guarantee of aesthetic solutions.

Perfect connection between the floor and the wall thanks to the concealed baseboard Dorsis Linus

Manufacturers of floor coverings usually supply a range of baseboards and accessories within their product range, which, while covering the gap between the floor and the wall and protecting the base of the wall, do not meet the demanding requirements of architects and designers for quality and modern minimalist design.

The concealed baseboards LINUS offer the advantage of a sophisticated yet simple product suitable for various wall constructions and every type of flooring. The system is based on aluminum profiles with a height of 60 mm and a thickness of 13 mm (series LINUS 13) or 15 mm (series LINUS 15), which are glued to the wall or screwed to the surface. Installation occurs during the finishing phase of the rough floor and before the execution of plastering, drywall boarding, or wall cladding; the top edge of the profile serves as a plastering guide or cladding edge. The height of the baseboard can be adjusted individually.

The LINUS concealed baseboards can also easily connect to DORSIS concealed frames and casings using a simple end piece, and stairs pose no problem – the baseboard smoothly flows along the stair treads to a higher or lower floor. Baseboard profiles can also be recessed into already plastered walls (which requires precise cutting of grooves to the appropriate depth).

You achieve exceptional aesthetics when you equip the concealed strip with an insert – this can be matched with the floor covering, doors, or wall. The standard is lacquered MDF of 8 mm thickness in any RAL shade; perfection can be achieved by applying an insert made from the floor covering (again at a thickness of 8 mm) or cut ceramic tiles. The result is a baseboard in the same design as the floor covering, thus truly minimalism in every detail. At the top of the design ladder stands the concealed baseboard LINUS with a modified insert featuring an LED strip - night linear backlighting in one plane with the floor creates a truly unique visual impression.

And how to proceed with the installation?

  • We recommend installing the baseboard after pouring the rough floors, anhydrite, and levelling compounds; this allows us to achieve the desired baseboard height
  • The basis is accurately determining the final floor height; the standard baseboard height is 60 mm. For a greater baseboard height, the profile can simply be attached above the zero floor, while for lower heights, the profile is recessed below the zero floor
  • The top edges of the baseboard profiles must be in a horizontal line
  • Before installation, it is necessary to check the flatness of the wall with a level and determine the depth of the baseboard installation; in cases of wall irregularities, the strip should be supported from the wall so that the plaster has a minimum of 10 mm at the point of unevenness
  • After measuring the required length, the baseboard is cut - for an external corner, a 45° cut is made, and for an internal corner, a straight cut is performed
  • The cut strip is placed in the desired position and glued to the wall, while for drywall partitions, it is screwed in with self-tapping screws into the drywall structure
  • In locations with irregular brick walls and in corners of the room, we recommend also mechanically anchoring the baseboard with driven-in anchors
  • For connecting the baseboard to DORSIS concealed frames and casings, universal right-left end pieces are provided; the end piece is cut and placed into the wall next to the frame and mechanically anchored using self-tapping screws into the frame or casing profile
  • After plastering the wall or applying drywall panels, painting, and laying the final floor, prepared design inserts are placed into and glued to the baseboard
