Current interior design focuses on perfect functionality, impeccable technical execution, and simple shapes with minimal details. All these qualities are offered by doors with hidden frames from the Czech manufacturer DORSIS.

That doors are not just a necessary part of communication lines but also play a significant role in the overall character of the interior is certainly worth mentioning. In this respect, we encounter two basic approaches from designers and architects: dominant doors or, on the contrary, subdued ones.

Doors with hidden frames from Dorsis offer an almost endless range of design solutions, always tailored to a specific interior

Dominant or Invisible?

Doors with hidden frames Fortius 52 from the Czech company DORSIS allow for both of these variants, plus in a completely individual interpretation. "If an architect or customer chooses a version with a distinctive veneer or contrasting color, the doors with hidden frames can become a dominant interior element," says Jan Krejčí, managing director of Dorsis. "If needed, they can visually blend into a smooth white wall, concrete screed, wallpaper, or cladding made of wood, ceramics, laminate, glass, or any other material."

Dorsis Fortius 52 were developed and are always supplied as a complete unit, with the frame installation revealed only by a nearly imperceptible thin aluminum perimeter frame, or possibly a handle. The frame is installed below the surface layer of the floor, allowing the Fortius 52 frames to offer a threshold-free solution, where the floor flows freely throughout the interior, and a maximum passage height of up to 3500 mm allows for the design of doors to the full height of the ceiling. The frames thus fully meet other requirements of architects and trends in architecture and design.

Customers are most interested in the choice of surface for the door leaf, but the technical execution, dimensions, and added technical elements are also variable

An Alternative for Every Interior

Doors Dorsis with hidden frames are compatible with a variety of architectural styles. They will look great in a modern minimalist villa, but they can also be used creatively in the renovation of rustic, Art Nouveau, industrial, or eclectic interiors. Modern doors will bring surprising dynamism and individuality. And time will confirm their high technical and aesthetic quality, which will withstand both mechanical and moral wear and tear. They will remain modern and adapt effortlessly to any potential redesign of the interior.

"We developed the concept of the Fortius 52 doors and hidden frames to offer architects and investors modern solutions for frames and doors of exceptional quality. We focused on finding the ideal construction and materials that ensure exceptional strength for both the frame and the doors. The result is a perfectly coordinated complete set of doors and frames in one product,” states Jan Krejčí from Dorsis.

Fortius 52 doors can be installed in acoustic or fireproof versions and handle humid environments like bathrooms without issues

Elegant Even in Technical Terms

While most lay builders tend to choose mainly based on appearance, professionals always check what is not visible at first glance, but is essential for the functionality of the element: construction and technical details. Aesthetics in this case goes hand in hand with practical thinking and the traditional Czech sense of good craftsmanship.

A major practical advantage is that Dorsis supplies the door leaf and Fortius 52 frame as a complete unit, so there are no problems with improper closing of doors, warping of the frame, etc. The complete set is custom-made for construction openings with passage widths up to 1000 mm for both masonry and drywall walls. The special aluminum alloy T6060 provides high rigidity, maximum strength, and long lifespan for the frame while maintaining subtle dimensions and a light weight of the frame profile. The surface of the frame is coated with powder-coated lacquer, and the surface of the door leaf is treated on all sides, making it resistant even to humid environments. The manufacturer also offers versions with a transom, sloping tops, and also acoustic, fireproof, or security variants.
