OK PLAN ARCHITECTS, an architectural studio based in Humpolec, is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and on this occasion, a publication mapping their architectural creations is also being released. The celebration of 20 years of the studio, which has a number of realizations across the Czech Republic, began with a guided tour of two realizations in Humpolec, followed by a conference on the topic of architecture and the development of small towns. The culmination was the launch of a book designed by Studio Najbrt. The third book of OK PLAN ARCHITECTS summarizes the creations and realizations of the past five years. The 20th-anniversary celebrations took place in Humpolec on Thursday, September 26, 2019.
The Humpolec architectural studio OK PLAN ARCHITECTS prepared a book on the occasion of its twenty years of presence in the Czech scene, summarizing projects and realizations from the last five years. The studio, led by architect Luděk Rýzner, is one of the most prominent Czech studios with a distinctive handwriting, widely published realizations in the media, and a minimalist approach to design. "As traditionally, we wanted to summarize our previous five-year period into a book, and as has become customary, its graphic form was designed by Bohumil Vašák from Studio Najbrt. The publication is intended not only for our clients and partners, but it will also be available for purchase in selected bookstores in the Czech Republic," says the studio's founder, architect Luděk Rýzner.
Although OK PLAN ARCHITECTS now has a branch in Prague, it remains firmly anchored in its home town of Humpolec, where it has made an indelible mark on the city's landscape with numerous realizations. The latest realization is Stromovka Park, whose guided tour with the authors kicked off the celebrations yesterday. This was followed by a tour of the 8smička art zone, which the studio revitalized in a former textile factory from 2016 to 2018.
The panel discussion on the topic of regional architecture, titled Architects and Architecture Outside Traditional Centers, took place at the Divadlo Za komínem, a new venue in Humpolec. The discussants included Karel Kratochvíl (Mayor of Humpolec), Vít Zeman (Deputy of the City Hall of Jihlava), Petr Kratochvíl (historian and theorist of architecture), Kamil Mrva (architect), Jan Hora (architect), and Luděk Rýzner (OK PLAN ARCHITECTS). The discussion was moderated by Richard Vodička.
