Architecture in Perspective 2026 - Call for Participation
Architecture and Urbanism since the second half of the 20th century
Conference of the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at VSB-TU in Ostrava, held on 21.10. - 22.10. 2026 in halls UA2, UA3 at the Aula of the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava.
Dear colleagues,
we are pleased to invite you for the sixteenth time to the international and interdisciplinary conference dedicated to architecture and urbanism.
The aim of the organizers is to continue the discussion on the relationship between society, architecture, and urbanism. Representatives from fields other than architecture also have the opportunity to present their contributions, thereby opening up space for further questions. It is thus possible to submit articles from the social sciences, economics, geography, civil engineering, and other fields.
The purpose of the conference is to seek and evaluate the current state of knowledge in architecture with the shortest history, not only from the perspectives of various disciplines but also from experiences of different countries with their distinct developments and approaches.
Contributions will be published in a printed proceedings with ISBN / ISSN and will be submitted for indexing in Web of Science and Scopus (proceedings from recent years are still in the process of evaluation by Web of Science). Each article will be assigned its own DOI number, just like the entire proceedings.
We would also like to emphasize that inclusion of the proceedings into the databases of Web of Science or Scopus cannot be guaranteed, as the decision on indexing is made solely by these databases based on their own evaluation criteria, particularly the quality and expertise of the published contributions.
The topics of contributions may relate to the following areas:
1. Theory and philosophy of architectural design
2. Urbanism and public space
3. Contemporary architecture of housing, civic amenities, and civil engineering
4. Heritage conservation, restoration, and conversion of structures and architectural complexes
5. Rural space and rural architecture
6. Ecological aspects in architecture
7. Trends and technologies in architecture
8. Art and design in architecture and public space
