What does it mean to act collectively when each of us brings our own perspectives, values, assumptions, and also our own language? How is a whole created from many diverse parts? And what compromises does the path to collectivity require? We will seek answers to these questions together with you through collective mapping of the public spaces of the reopened Invalidovna. The aim of the workshop is therefore twofold: to reflect together on the collective potential of the spaces and also on the mechanisms that can activate these potentials. The workshop is led by the collectives Spolka. It is open to everyone regardless of profession, experience, or knowledge of the place. The number of places is limited, max. 15 participants. Registration at [email protected] The workshop is part of the Spolka exhibition: Spaces of Collectivity. Spolka is a collective of architects and sociologists engaged in urbanism and public engagement in the creation of cities. We work on themes that are directly related to public space, participation, equality, and strengthening the partnership relationship between citizens and their city. We develop our own approaches and formats of transdisciplinary cooperation and spread awareness about the city through discussion, our own research, artistic and architectural interventions, and by educating stakeholders, organizations, officials, and ordinary residents or urban dwellers. We mainly work in Košice and also operate in Brno, Prague, and Berlin. Introductory photo: Fritz Schlüter
