Another lecture in the series of the OFFCITY project will once again be non-architectural, and we believe it will reveal another layer of the city in a very specific way…

Social geographer Luděk Sýkora will uncover further layers of the urban organism in his lecture and discussion on the topic "Challenges of the Post-Socialist City." He works as an associate professor at the Department of Social Geography and Regional Development at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. He focuses primarily on the study of transformations in post-socialist cities, examining the development of urban neighborhoods and locations. He also teaches at the AAAD for students of urbanism and architecture. He has studied and worked in the Netherlands, Norway, and the United States. He has published over 80 scientific papers.

Organized by the Terra Madoda association in collaboration with Divadlo 29 as part of the OFFCITY 2011 project. This project is implemented with the support of the statutory city of Pardubice, the Czech Architecture Foundation, and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
