Brno is seeking the best design for the development of the surroundings of the Ponávka stream in a landscape architecture competition workshop

The goal of the competition workshop "The Area of Ponávka from Královo Pole to Řečkovice" is to jointly find the most suitable development proposal for the area, which will serve as a basis for changes to the Urban Plan of the City of Brno or for local government decisions regarding individual intentions. This part of the Ponávka and its surroundings will thus receive a development concept and gradually integrate naturally and functionally into the structure of the city.

Brno aims to support the natural character of the area and its sporting-recreational and social significance, thereby offering an attractive space for leisure activities. During the preparation of the assignment, a public meeting was held, allowing the public to participate in an online survey focused on the current state and future of the locality. The suggestions obtained will be an important basis for the participants in the competition.

One of the conditions for participation in the competition is the presence of an authorized architect in the team. The deadline for submitting proposals is set for March 7, 2025, by 12 noon. Participants will first submit their development concepts anonymously, from which the jury will select a maximum of 5 who will continue working on the proposals. Subsequently, they will participate in workshops where they will confront their proposals with the competition jury, interested stakeholders in the area, independent experts, etc. The announcement of the competition winner and an exhibition of all proposals are planned for the second half of 2025.
