After two years, we are reaching out to you again with an invitation to participate in the next edition of the Rudolf Eitelberger Award. The Association for Beautiful Olomouc is preparing to award it for the ninth time this year. The goal of this symbolic award is to draw attention to those interventions that have positively and successfully influenced the architectural culture in Olomouc and throughout the Olomouc Region from 2023 until the middle of this year. We fulfill one of the goals of our association, which is to promote and inform the public about changes in construction and urban planning that affect the architectural, heritage, and urban values of the affected locations. The award is named after the Olomouc native Rudolf Eitelberger von Edelberg (1817–1885), a respected founder of museums, modern art history, and heritage care, and a commentator on political, architectural, and urban issues. We would be pleased if as many interested parties as possible, both from Olomouc and beyond, who care about the fate of the environment around us, would participate in the discussions and submissions of proposals. This activity of the association, although symbolic in nature, helps to deepen reflections on the heritage and architectural values of our city and the cities of the entire Olomouc Region. Proposals and suggestions can be sent until July 15, 2025, to the address below. The suggestions from the members of the association and the wider public will be evaluated by an independent expert committee. From the nominated projects, a winning project will emerge, which will receive the trophy of our association, a sculpture by Jaroslav Koléšek, during the Architecture Day festival on October 4, 2025.
