Among the forty finalists for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2019 is the Slovak Mlynica, while the Czechs are absent

Barcelona - The Mies van der Rohe Foundation, in collaboration with the European Commission, announced today the 40 finalists who will compete for the 2019 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture (Mies van der Rohe Award).

The jury, consisting of Dorte Mandrup, George Arbid, Angelika Fitz, Stefan Ghenciulescu, Kamiel Klaasse, María Langarita, and Frank McDonald, spent three days in Barcelona selecting the shortlist of finalists and discussing the current challenges and trends in European architecture.

Unfortunately, there was not a single Czech representative among this year's finalists. The Slovak Republic is represented among the forty finalists by the reconversion of the Bratislava Mlynica by GutGut.
