Tišnov - Tišnov in the Brno region plans an architectural competition for the design of a municipal building. The building is intended to serve as a parking garage for up to 120 cars, and it will also include a gymnasium. The city council plans to pay approximately 200 million crowns for the construction of the building. The intention has been approved by the city councilors, as stated in a press release.

The main function of the building at the intersection of Riegrova and Drbalova streets is to provide parking, but there will also be space for a gymnasium. "In close proximity to the proposed building, there are many visited public buildings and institutions such as a polyclinic, a government office, a leisure center, a primary school, a grammar school, a sports hall, and a sokolovna,” said the mayor of Tišnov, Jiří Dospíšil (MOST).

Part of the land currently serves as a parking lot for approximately 40 cars, but the demand for parking in this part of the city is much higher. The capacity of the parking garage is expected to be around 100 to 120 spaces. The gymnasium area is expected to enhance sports facilities not only for the surrounding schools.

Architectural studios can apply for the competition until January 12 of next year. The evaluation committee will select six participants, who will be asked to develop their proposals.

"The challenge for the competitors will be to design a building that maximally meets the demand for high parking capacity, while also preserving the human or, if you will, urban face of the building, which will offer its services to passersby. For this reason, it is anticipated that small rental spaces will be created on the ground floor, which can contribute to the operation of the building while enlivening the adjacent public space," Dospíšil stated.
