The subject of the competition was the design of a public space in Červený Kostelec between 17. listopadu and Břetislava Kafky streets. The primary goal of the competition was to find an appropriate architectural form for the public space considering its existing and planned use, as well as to design a new building serving the public, where facilities for light refreshments, etc., will be located.

1st Prize: 75,000 CZK Authors: 2021 s.r.o. / Ing. arch. Peter Lényi, Ing. arch. Marián Lucký, Ing. arch. Ondrej Marko, Bc. Monika Bočková, Ing. Michal Marcinov Jury Assessment: Functionally well-designed, thoughtfully divided into three sections, quality contemporary architecture of the newly proposed building. A weakness is the connection of the pavilion to the play area, which does not form a compact whole. The busy street is well shielded by a line of trees. The question is the parking solution in the area in front of the city office, which can serve as a small square; with less conspicuous marking of parking spaces, the function of both a parking lot and a gathering area can be well combined. Overall, a quality urban space was created. The central area is functional, and the lack of emphasis on a rubber surface can be appreciated, as well as the overall openness to variant proposals, considering that the authors consider the basic concept essential. The central area with space for children is adequate after adjustments in the second phase. The most discussed is the planting around the monument, the space is interesting, but the shaped trees are too demanding in terms of maintenance. Another issue is the non-walkable surface under the trees around the monument, which detracts from the experience of being under the tree crowns. Attention to detail will be very important; the implementation may be demanding and must not undermine the generosity of the original foundation.
2nd Prize: 50,000 CZK Author: Ing. arch. Alexandr Skalický Jury Assessment: The concept is very simple and respects the site. However, it lacks details; the small elements are unfinished and feel too minor in relation to the surroundings and the size of the grassy area, resulting in an overall somewhat austere impression. The poorly placed parking lot is an issue but can be solved more discreetly. The building is well-positioned, but the placement of the water feature is awkward; additionally, access to the side entrance of the elementary school building, which is heavily utilized, is missing. The absence of a longitudinal access to the monument is unfortunate, as the design lacks direct longitudinal and transverse crossings at the monument, making it impossible to approach it directly along the path; the longitudinal access is removed without replacement. However, the park is well visible and effectively resolves the gathering area. The placement of the fountain appears random, lacking deeper compositional relationships, while the trees at the lower boundary are sufficiently abundant.
3rd Prize: 30,000 CZK Authors: Mgr. Ing. arch. landscape Katarzyna Dorda, Ing. arch. Šárka Ullwerová, Ing. Jitka Ullwerová, Ing. arch. Martin Březina Jury Assessment: The greatest shortcoming is the positioning of the building along the street line. The placement of the water feature is unsubstantiated. The implementation and operation will be financially demanding. The design somewhat forcefully shifts all activities to the center, although the basic idea of people meeting is good. In the first phase, the design was too formal; this formality remained despite the comments. The chosen form compromises functionality. The placement of the building is incorrect as it does not create a space in front of the city hall. Similarly, the passage through the building with seating is not pleasant and will not be very functional; everything is overly subordinated to the idea of a boulevard, which it is not. The entry to the space has too narrow a throat, making the flow very limited. The corner of Freiwaldova Savings Bank is not very visible. The flower beds are an obstacle to cross communication.
