On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 9:30 PM, the ceremonial opening of the exhibition by the Dutch studio Benthem Crouwel Architects will take place at the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery. The event will also include a lecture by Mels Crouwel at 7:00 PM in Prague's CAMP.

BCA has been creating innovative, flexible, and efficient designs for more than three decades, which must meet high standards and complex user requirements. Their area of work ranges from (public) buildings to infrastructure projects and urban master plans. Whether renovating or modernizing a building or designing an entirely new structure, they always seek clear, unique, and effective solutions. Some of their designs are restrained, such as the expansion of the Anne Frank House, while others are iconic, like the Mining Museum and Ziggo Dome. In various projects, they demonstrate that the combination of old and new elements can lead to very sustainable buildings that harmoniously blend with their surroundings and adapt to new uses.
Old and new buildings form part of the urban morphology, which BCA fully respects. They develop architecture to create a new urban character and thus contribute to the future. Unexpected qualities often manifest in the design and planning process, providing impulses for the urban environment or for the building's inhabitants.
The presentation in the Czech Republic will focus primarily on infrastructure projects and will showcase inspiring buildings that should change the perspective of the Czech professional public and politicians on this segment of architecture.
