The Egoé company area will once again open its doors on Friday, September 1, 2023, for the sixth time for a two-day outdoor gathering featuring music, design, interesting personalities, and creative activities. As part of the event WiFič VEN!, other projects of the new platform Pole designu will be presented, encompassing the entire Egoé area located at Bílovice 519. It is now accessible to anyone interested in the process of design birth and the journey from ideas to products. The ambition of Pole designu is to showcase what industrial design means in practice.

Visitors can look forward to concerts by bands such as Vltava, Para, Korben Dallas, Bert & Friends, and Vladimir 518. They will be joined by director Jan Hřebejk, ČT reporters in Ukraine David Miřejovský and Adreas Papadopulos, or skier Šárka Strachová. There will also be time for discussions about history with the actors from the successful podcast Přepište dějiny, Professor Michal Stehlík and expert on old newspapers Martin Gromanen. And if time permits, guests may have a chat with the bassist of the band Korben Dallas, Lukáš Fila, who is the director of the Slovak publishing house N Press, which includes Deník N in its portfolio.

All this will take place in the Egoé company's area at the symbolic Pole designu. A place where ideas germinate and products are born. This year, WiFič VEN! will be held on September 1 and 2, 2023.

Pole designu

You are entering a laboratory of private and public space. We make visible the work of development teams, in which the role of the industrial designer is irreplaceable.

Pole designu is an educational platform for professionals, students, and the general public.
The Pole designu platform is a new project created with the goal of raising awareness about the role and significance of the quality of industrial design in both private and public environments. It is located in the area of the former Unified Agricultural Cooperative Bílovice near Uherské Hradiště, now the headquarters of the Egoé company. For the past fifteen years, this originally neglected brownfield has been gradually transforming into a manufacturing-educational campus that aims to become a laboratory for industrial design in the public space within a European context.
This place, with its specific historical footprint, also offers a space for meeting architects, designers, politicians, local residents, employees, and Egoé clients not only during the summer outdoor gathering WiFič VEN! but also aims to become a platform with a year-round program and its own gallery. The urban structure of the campus features a red Design Path, which offers a unique opportunity to visit spaces where designers and developers work, as well as the production area where their ideas are realized.
The surrounding landscape creating the environmental framework of the manufacturing campus is also significant. Architect Kamil Mrva established the basis of the continuously built public space with his urban concept of a backbone street between administrative buildings. The "street" serves as a meeting point and communication area for employees, clients, and visitors interested in industrial design and will also be used in the future for educating the younger generation at all levels, including summer schools of architecture and design.
That is why the operational background of the Camp is being continuously supplemented, which is intended to provide accommodation for visitors to the area year-round. During this year's WiFič VEN! event, several exhibitions are prepared for visitors, one of which, aptly named From the Saffron Field, focuses on the history of the transformation of the Bílovice agricultural area.

A series of exhibitions prepared for the summer gathering WiFič VEN! by the Pole designu platform:

From the Saffron Field
gallery, ground floor of building B / An inventory of local history: the story of the transformation of the Bílovice agricultural area in texts, maps, and photographs in the context of political and economic changes from the 16th century to the present. The process of converting an agricultural brownfield into an educational and exhibition campus focused on industrial design.

Influences or We Learn from Eagles
powder coating workshop, ground floor of building B / The exhibition offers an introduction to inspiring works by leading global and Czech designers. This year, particularly from significant centers that defined the direction of industrial design development in the 20th century (Bauhaus, Ulm, Zlín) and focused on the personalities of Otakar Diblík and Dieter Rams.

Process
upper floor of building B / A variable exhibition allowing insight into the creative process of the designers and developers of Egoé during the period of 2022–2023.

Hats Off
wet spray booth / Large-scale documentation of the birth and realization of the new headquarters of Kloboucká lesní by the studio Mjölk. The context of sustainable architecture is the primary idea for the administrative building, which emerged from a unique dialogue between the investor and the architects, with the adjacent production area, rainwater management, and emphasis on energy self-sufficiency also becoming significant components. Here we can already speak of a "Czech" path in global standards when designing buildings with no carbon footprint.

Tvarůžek
hall E1 / True industrial and non-decorative design from the creative workshop of Martin Tvarůžek transformed the production hall into an industrial gallery with large-format photographs showcasing a collection of internationally awarded realizations, including the Locust 904/1004 skid loader (Red Dot Design Award 2023, Best of the Best) and the Recognoil 3W device designed for detecting and measuring surface grease (Red Dot Design Award 2023).

Herbarium of Local Botanical Diversity
camp / An outdoor exhibition of paintings by the author duo Pavla Šnajdarová and Ondřej Mladý created using watercolor technique. It documents the botanical diversity of the local landscape and is displayed in a modular octagonal structure with a view of the Buchlov Mountains.
