Our homes, workplaces, public buildings, and the entire urban landscape are a sum of various elements that together create either a meaningful whole or a cocktail of disparate ingredients. The debate aims to stimulate thinking about the need to cultivate what is in front of and behind the fence. The topic will focus more on a smaller (designer) scale within our residences and elements complementing the broader context of public space.

The condition of public space (squares, parks, embankments, train stations, and shared spaces) generally reflects the maturity and values of the entire society. An interactive discussion panel during which curious questions can be asked will point to places where the collaboration of architects, urban planners, local self-governments, and private investors goes hand in hand, but it will also cover places where this is not the case.

The debate on the design, implementation, and use of buildings and spaces serving public purposes (hospitals, schools, offices, parks, cultural buildings, transportation infrastructure) will uncover the invisible processes occurring in the minds of clients, creators, and users. Curious and honest questions from the audience are welcome.
