Architect Pavol Pokorný (*1969) is a prominent figure in the Slovak architectural scene specializing in energy-efficient architectural design.
A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture in Bratislava (1993, prof. Ing. arch. Robert Špaček, CSc.) and a student of Swiss architect Justus Dahinden (1991-92 Vienna/Zürich), he co-founded the studio ŠTÚDIO FOR in 1996 with Martin Kvasnica, Ján Lukáč, and Damián Berec (Chatam Sofer Memorial, Church of St. Francis of Assisi, etc.).
Since 2001, he has been working independently as an authorized architect SKA and in 2007 established the studio POKORNY ARCHITECTS.
Regarding the role of the architect, Pavol Pokorný says: “I perceive architecture as a fundamentally defining phenomenon of life, a fascinating phenomenon present in both material and spiritual experience at the same time. In the profession of architect, I am a humble guide for my clients in the labyrinth of this phenomenon.”
The exhibition presents works from the studio from 2008 to the present.
