From today, Prague residents can familiarize themselves with the first drawings of the emerging territorial plan, which aims to prevent manipulations with land and direct it among European metropolises. IPR invites the public to an exhibition at the Old Town Hall.

The first drawings of the emerging territorial plan (the so-called Metropolitan Plan) are on display from today on the 4th floor of the Old Town Hall. Among other things, the current versions of the division of Prague into approximately 800 locations can be seen. The Metropolitan Plan newly divides the city into locations based on the predominant character of the built environment, streets, and parks, and clearly regulates how they should be developed. Compared to the existing territorial plan, it mainly defines the character of the city thoroughly. The locations are divided into buildable and non-buildable to prevent the ecological and economic sprawl of the city into the open countryside.
Visitors will also be able to view a drawing analyzing development areas and assessing their potential for possible building or analyzing the height of Prague's buildings. For the first time, a unique scheme of public spaces will also be on display. The exhibition will be complemented by an animated video presenting the basic theses of the emerging plan.
The exhibition is another step in presenting the Metropolitan Plan to the general public. In April, IPR published the first twelve thematic booklets on the philosophy of the emerging plan, and in June, another six will be released.
