The Gallery Route Prague – Karlín – Viaduct is a project by CCEA that opens up the topic of the space under the Karlin viaduct for culture and the city. From Thursday, 19.9. to Saturday, 21.9., exhibitions from Prague galleries will fill the arches of the Negrelli viaduct and the space will come alive with concerts, theater and dance performances, children's creative workshops, and workshops.

The Negrelli Viaduct has been in operation since 1850. It is one of the most significant technical structures in Prague and the Czech Republic, the second oldest bridge in Prague. Unfortunately, the current state of the viaduct contradicts all the qualities that its spaces offer.

The goal of the project is to highlight the potential of this transportation structure and verify possibilities for integrating it into urban life.

In 2015, reconstruction of the viaduct is planned, which will focus mainly on the technical aspects of the structure. Currently, there are no plans for using the spaces under the arches. The Transformation of the Negrelli Viaduct workshop will focus on a process that demonstrates the possibility of utilizing the structure for the benefit of the city. The goal of the workshop is to find a suitable architectural-economic model for the Negrelli Viaduct that would not be based on standard development principles.

The results of the workshop will be presented to representatives of the City of Prague, the Prague 8 Municipality, and the Railway Administration (21.9 at 17:00 under the viaduct). The aim of the project is to raise public awareness of the potential of this space and to start a debate on its future form.
