The student association of Lausanne's EPFL 'alice studio' has built a small spiral observation platform under the mighty Matterhorn at the edge of the glacial lake Stellisee. The wooden structure, named 'Evolver', is designed to allow observation of the surroundings “in a completely new and nature-responsible way”. Twenty-four wooden frames create a continuous ramp gradually rotating 720 degrees. According to the authors, “the observation pulpit is built from entirely experimental elements and strives to connect as best as possible with the surrounding landscape.” The prefabricated wooden frames were transported to the site by helicopter. 'Alice studio' does not mention how long 'Evolver' will be on display at the site.
