The Parisian duo of architects Marc Breitman and Nada Breitman-Jakov was awarded the Driehaus Prize for Classical Architecture on January 17, 2018. This prestigious global award for contemporary traditionalist architects, accompanied by a monetary prize of $200,000, was bestowed by a committee established by the School of Architecture at the University of Notre Dame in the USA. Its members include architects Michael Lykoudis, Léon Krier, and Demetri Porphyrios, architect Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, architect and writer Witold Rybczynski, critic Paul Goldberger, founder of the city of Seaside Robert Davis, and emeritus president of the American Academy in Rome Adele Chatfield-Taylor. The award will be presented on March 24, 2018, at a ceremony in Chicago. At the same time, Torsten Kulke, chairman of the Society for the Restoration of the Historic Center of Dresden (Gesselschaft Historischer Neumarkt Dresden), received the Henry Hope Reed Award ($50,000) for fostering and promoting traditional construction and art.

Nada Breitmanová-Jakovová comes from Belgium and studied architecture and urbanism in Brussels. Marc Breitman is a native Parisian and studied architecture at École des Beaux-Arts. In 1989, they jointly founded the studio Breitman - Breitman. Their numerous completed projects include residential buildings, schools, religious buildings, hotels, administrative buildings, and urban complexes primarily in Paris and its surroundings (Le Plessis Robinson, Puteaux, etc.). Among the architecturally exceptional new buildings is the Aya Sofia mosque in Amsterdam from 2015.
