On Thursday, December 21, 2023, the curator of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition was publicly announced on the pages of La Biennale di Venezia. The exhibition will take place from May 24 to November 23, 2015. The board selected Turin architect and engineer Carlo Ratti, who introduced himself to the Czech public last autumn as part of the lecture series November Talks 2022. The outgoing president and film producer Roberto Cicutto (2020-23) introduced the new curator of the Venice Biennale, with the selection also approved by the incoming president and writer Pietrangelo Buttafuoco (2024-27), who will take over the leadership of La Biennale di Venezia in March next year.
“We architects like to think how smart we are, but true knowledge is all around us. The boundless ingenuity of evolution, the growing power of computers, and the collective wisdom of humanity. To face the pressing problems of today’s world, architecture must harness all the intelligence around us. It is my honor and humility to have the opportunity to be the curator of the architectural biennale for 2025.”
