Holiday home in Copenhagen by Powerhouse Company

The Dutch-Danish studio formed by the duo Nanne de Ru and Charles Bessard began building a weekend house with a total area of 110m² in the resort of Vejby in northern Denmark for a young family who spends most of their time in Copenhagen. The project, titled “Village House“, truly resembles a village made up of a cluster of five smaller houses with a classic gabled roof (three of which form the living room and the remaining two are bedrooms). In addition to the prototype of a traditional organic village, the authors of the holiday home also worked with the idea of an open hand, whose outstretched fingers point towards the surrounding landscape (to the forest, meadow, ...). For this purpose, the architects adapted the views from the house to create a harmony between bustling family life and tranquil areas.
