Benešov - Benešov is preparing a reconstruction of Husova Square. Workers will build new sidewalks, benches, and lighting there. The city has completed a study and will start working on the project documentation. The costs are not yet known, but they will reach several tens of millions of crowns, said Deputy Mayor Roman Tichovský (ODS) to ČTK.
According to him, in the future, only the statue of Hus and the original tree planting will remain from the current square. "It will be a complete reconstruction; the square will be entirely new. All surfaces will be completely replaced. New sidewalks, park furniture, and new lighting will be installed," the deputy mayor stated.
The city will also eliminate the connection between Táborská and Žižková streets. This road will become part of the square, and cars will not be able to pass through it.
The town of over sixteen thousand residents, Benešov, plans to invest this year mainly in the insulation of the Karlov cultural house and the reconstruction of the library into a community center. Another major project is the construction of an after-school club for Dukelská Elementary School.
