Lázně Bohdaneč

Lázně Bohdaneč - The town of Lázně Bohdaneč in Pardubice is building a sports hall. It will be completed by the end of next year. The construction company has started the groundwork. The town will pay around 61 million crowns for the new sports facility. This was stated by the mayor Vladimír Šebek (Change for Bohdaneč).

"We have our first complication. A sewage system has appeared that was not marked on the project; we need to relocate it. It was unforeseen. It will cost some extra money," said Šebek.

The sports facility will consist of three buildings: an actual hall, a two-story annex with changing rooms, and a small hall with an entrance corridor to the main hall. The built-up area will be over 1500 m². The audience will accommodate 130 people.

The town is building the hall on the premises of the primary school, which currently only has a small gym. Children still go to exercise in the sokolovna, where local sports clubs also train.

"Clubs can train in the sokolovna, but they cannot organize a tournament; there is no space for them there. We are building the hall for our needs, for the school, clubs, and the public," said the mayor.

The town wanted to build the hall in the past as well. The first project cost eight million crowns, the more economical variant ultimately increased the investment from 78 million crowns to 133 million crowns, which the council rejected. The town then had a project prepared for 1.5 million crowns and is now counting on a price of 61 million crowns. The investment will be paid from the budget and a loan.
