Brno - The Central Building Authority in Brno is now staffed at 90 percent more than a quarter of a year after it began operations. Selection processes for additional positions have been announced, said Filip Poňuchálek, spokesperson for the Brno City Hall, to ČTK today. The Regional Building Authority, which had to be established with regard to the unification of Brno's offices, is filled to approximately two-thirds. It is still looking for 25 clerks and offers them a recruitment bonus of 81,000 crowns, said Martina Žídková from the press department of the regional government.

The Central Building Authority opened on Orlí Street on July 1. All building authorities from the municipal districts were relocated to the former post office building, except for the Brno-střed office. By the summer, all management and administrative positions were occupied. The office is gradually hiring for additional positions. "We support this with a paid information campaign on social networks and other communication channels. We are not currently offering a recruitment bonus for these positions; we offer standard benefits like other job seekers at the city hall," said Poňuchálek. He added that more than 120 people work at the building authority.

Some employees are officials from the municipal districts. However, some decided not to continue working at the city center office. Therefore, it was necessary to pay severance to the employees, which exceeded seven million crowns. The city compensates the severance expenses for 13 municipal districts.

After the centralization of offices from the municipal districts, the regional office became the appeal authority for Brno. As of January 1, a regional building authority was established, which is supposed to employ a total of 75 people. "Currently, the leading and assistant positions and 35 clerk positions are filled. We are preparing two new hires for November 1 and three for December 1," Žídková stated. The region wants to ensure the additional 25 clerks also thanks to the recruitment bonus. "This is one of the tools to attract candidates for positions that have long been difficult to fill," she added.
