Brno - Brno wants to offer money for the properties of entrepreneur Libor Procházka, which in the area behind Lužánky are obstructing the construction of a football stadium. The city council today agreed on a financial settlement, which still needs to be approved by the city assembly. This was stated to reporters by the mayor's deputy Richard Mrázek (ANO). Procházka advocates for an exchange of properties for properties. The city initially tried to offer him houses, but this was opposed by residents and some politicians.

The stadium, costing two billion crowns with a capacity of 30,000 seats, is to be built on the site of a dilapidated stadium. Zbrojovka won its last title there, but left at the beginning of the millennium. Procházka has underground garages, a tennis hall, and roads on the city's land near the stadium. Their value is around a quarter of a billion crowns. Until the city resolves the situation, it cannot build the stadium. Moreover, it has already lost a lawsuit against Procházka due to the fact that the roof of the garages is used as a parking lot.

The city councillors recommend that the assembly approve that the city continues negotiations with Procházka but offers him a financial settlement. Earlier, the city wanted to meet Procházka's demands and give him properties, but tenants opposed the exchange of nine apartment buildings, and the opposition protested against the exchange of five listed buildings, with the ODS even creating a petition. The mayor of Brno, Petr Vokřál (ANO), stated that Procházka prefers an agreement with the city, but if they cannot come to an agreement, he can sell the property to someone else. In such a case, the city would also negotiate with the new owner.

On the contrary, the council did not support a resolution to initiate arbitration proceedings or an arbitration court with Procházka regarding the use of adjacent roads. Due to the lost lawsuit, the city had to pay Procházka millions for the use of the garage roof, and Procházka may file another lawsuit concerning the use of roads. According to Mrázek, it is a pity that the city does not want to engage in arbitration or a court that would show whether the roads belong to the city's land or to the entrepreneur. According to Mrázek, there are two differing court decisions regarding this issue. Brno has been resolving the dispute with Procházka for over 13 years.
