Brno - Brno, as the founder, continues with the renovations of the polyclinic on Zahradníkova Street, which will also house a kindergarten with 24 places starting in January. The costs for establishing the kindergarten exceed seven million crowns. For a full-day stay, parents will pay 1,000 crowns per month, and for a half-day, 500 crowns, said Deputy Mayor Petr Hladík (KDU-ČSL) to ČTK today. The city has been reconstructing the polyclinic since 2009. This year, it allocated 26 million, and in the coming years, the estimate is around 360 million crowns.

The kindergarten will be located on Nerudova Street in spaces that are part of the polyclinic facilities. According to Hladík, from the city's perspective, this is the first children's group where children of city employees and employees of other organizations can be placed. "We are trying to support family policy with this. It is also related to the creation of several part-time job positions. The places are primarily intended for the children of employees of the city hall, the healthcare facility on Zahradníkova Street, and for the Brno Municipal Police," Hladík stated. However, if the capacity is not filled, other citizens may also use it.

Four qualified educators will take care of children aged from one to four years. In addition to places for the children's group, the inner courtyard between the buildings at Zahradníkova 6 and Nerudova 7 will be renovated, where a playground will also be created. The builders will repair the facade and replace the windows. The city has allocated 15 million crowns for the revitalization of the inner courtyard.

The South Moravian Region already has a kindergarten for employees. There is space for 34 children directly at the regional office, and this year, after the holidays, the region added another 72 places in the building of the Higher Vocational School of Health in Brno, not far from the office. Children of firefighters and police officers also attend the kindergarten.

Brno manages nearly 140 kindergartens for 11,600 children. In recent years, new places have been emerging. Although most children get into kindergartens, there are still parents, especially of younger children, who are looking for places.
