Čáslav – Čáslav in the Kutná Hora region has commissioned an urban study for the site of the former Prokop Holý barracks. It is expected to be completed by the end of May. It should definitively establish the extent of construction allowed in this area for future developers. The city has thus responded to public demands, said Mayor Vlastislav Málek to ČTK.
Builders at the barracks recently completed the construction of 34 apartments, which have already been occupied by new owners. These are two buildings with apartments ranging from 2+KK to 4+KK. The city, which was the investor, had to borrow from a bank for the construction. "All 34 apartments are sold, and we have repaid the loan we had," the mayor stated.
Construction at the Prokop Holý site is set to continue. Initially, the council was to approve the sale of land to a developer for the construction of another 500 apartments, but the city management ultimately withdrew the proposal. They heeded critical voices that the size of the land does not correspond to such a large number of apartments. At the same time, they commissioned an urban study that will address the future shape of the area and will be binding for all future investors.
"We wanted to respond to the comments and requests of the citizens, to make it an area where there won't be as many apartments as possible at any cost, but where park arrangements and living and parking spaces are also properly addressed," the mayor stated. According to him, construction is a matter of the next approximately five years. According to Málek, at least 400 apartments could be created in this location.
In Čáslav, a project for 28 family houses in Koželuhy is also being prepared, which a private company wants to build. The city is expected to sell the land to them for 30 million crowns.
