Chomutov announced a competition for the best design of a cultural center

Chomutov - North Bohemian Chomutov has announced a competition for the best graphic design of the facade of the cultural and social center, the construction of which is one of the projects of the integrated city development plan. The investment intention should appeal to as many residents as possible, and the competition will follow two public meetings with a presentation of the integrated plan, Mayor Ivana Řápková informed CTK today.
    Every resident of the city can participate in the competition, and interested parties can find more information on the website www.chomutov-projekty.eu. "The jury will reward the three best designs. The author of the winning design will receive a prize of 5,000 crowns, and those who place second and third will receive material gifts," Řápková stated.
    According to her, Chomutov high schools also responded positively to the offer for a detailed introduction to the individual projects of the integrated development plan. "All announced presentation dates are already booked, so we will add more. Informing students is a priority. Young people will primarily use the newly built area for sports and relaxation. In addition, they have a number of creative ideas, and their reactions are important to us," she added.
    The integrated city development plan includes the construction of a recreational and relaxation center, which is expected to be built within five years from the area of the former barracks, and will also include the Kamencové Lake location.
    The construction of a modern multifunctional center with year-round use will require 1.46 billion crowns, with nearly 71 percent of the costs expected to be covered by EU contributions from the Regional Operational Programme Northwest.
