The Vltava River Basin will build a center in Strakonice for 96 million CZK, searching for a contractor

Strakonice – The state-owned enterprise Povodí Vltavy will build a center in Strakonice. The design of the building emerged from an architectural competition in 2023. The company plans to start construction, valued at approximately 96 million crowns excluding VAT, in the autumn of this year. It is currently preparing a tender for the contractor, reported today in a press release the spokesperson of Povodí Vltavy, Pavlína Mertl.

The new operational center will improve the facilities for employees and the management of waterways in the region. "From the beginning, we wanted a modern, energy-efficient, and architecturally high-quality object that respects the surrounding environment and also offers a long-term sustainable solution," said the General Director of Povodí Vltavy, Petr Kubala.

The building, designed by architects Kristýna Shromáždilová and Lukáš Fišer from Brno, will have three above-ground floors. The masonry and reinforced concrete part will be complemented by a wooden structure on the top floor. The project also includes a green roof and the improvement of the surrounding area, including paved surfaces.

Povodí Vltavy will use the Best Value Approach (BVA) method for evaluating bids in the tender. This method considers not only the lowest price but also the quality, experience, and expertise of the supplier. Detailed information will be included in the tender documentation, which will be published in the first half of July on the website.
