Zlín - The Architecture Day Festival will also commemorate the work of Karel Prager, a native of Kroměříž, who is one of the most prominent representatives of post-war architecture in our country. Dozens of events will take place in the Zlín Region, with this year's centenary of Prager's birth being commemorated by an exhibition and an architectural walk in Kroměříž, the festival organizers informed ČTK today. People will also be able to get acquainted with Prager's early works in Otrokovice in the Zlín region, where the festival will present his apartment building in the style of socialist realism.


Architecture Day will offer over 400 free-access events in the Czech Republic and Slovakia from September 29 to October 5. This year's festival will focus on exceptional structural solutions in historical architecture, industrial architecture, and buildings from the 20th and 21st centuries. It will also commemorate the work of the representative of Baroque Gothic, Jan Blažej Santini - Aichel, whose death marks 300 years this year.

In the Zlín region, people will be able to visit the factory complex of the Baťa company in Zlín, with guided tours of the Tomáš Baťa Memorial, the garden of the Zlín villa of Miroslav Zikmund, or the building of Centroprojekt prepared.

The festival will also offer a tour of the new headquarters of Kloboucká lesní in Brumov-Bylnice, while in Valašské Meziříčí in the Vsetín region, there will be guided tours of the glassworks complex, historical trusses of Kinský Castle, or the city center. In Uherské Hradiště, people will have access to the building of the former Baroque armory, the hospital complex, and the Hvězda cinema. In Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, there will be a tour of the library after renovation.

The Architecture Day Festival will take place for the thirteenth time, organized by the Kruh association with local organizations and initiatives. Admission to the events is free, although reservations may be required due to capacity in some cases. The program is available on the website.
