Prague - The Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) is preparing further contracts regarding the development around the Nádraží Holešovice metro station together with Karlín Group and CPI Property Group, with whom it established a joint venture in 2021. In response to a query from ČTK, DPP director Petr Witowski stated today that the so-called implementation contracts could be ready for signing at the turn of this year and next. Preparations for the development of the station area will follow, for which a study will be created.
"We have had the shareholder agreements signed for a long time; now we are actually preparing the specific implementation contracts, detailing how the collaboration should look," said the director. According to him, an architectural study will need to be created for the adaptations, the construction plan will have to comply with the spatial planning documentation, and the permitting processes will take some time. "My humble estimate is that it will take a few more years before we see any visible changes here," he said.
The joint project includes the renovation of the northern vestibule of the metro station and the construction of administrative and residential buildings in the surrounding area. DPP owns land near the station, which, according to earlier statements by city and company representatives, is undevelopable without an agreement with the owners of the surrounding parcels. The construction will link to a construction project in the neighboring area of Bubny-Zátory.
The joint venture has faced criticism in the past, and its preparations are to be the subject of one of the audits that the city hall is preparing at the request of the representatives due to the corruption case known as Dozimetr. DPP has previously rejected criticism, claiming that cooperation with private entities abroad is a common and effective way to leverage assets, and the terms of collaboration are set in a favorable and transparent manner for the city.
