Prague - The Prague Public Transport Company (DPP) and the company Nové Holešovice Development, controlled by the Karlín Group, could sign a contract in June to establish a joint venture for the development of the metro station C Nádraží Holešovice and its surroundings. Adam Scheinherr (Praha Sobě), the deputy mayor, told ČTK today. The Antimonopoly Office has already definitively rejected a complaint from the CPI group, which had complained about the DPP's actions. According to the deputy, this is another confirmation that the entire process is in accordance with legal regulations.

The DPP's plan involves Nové Holešovice Development, in conjunction with DPP, establishing a company that will be responsible for the reconstruction of the metro station and the construction of offices and apartments in the vicinity. The Karlín Group owns land in the area, just like DPP and the capital city, making it logical to partner with this company. CPI, which also has plans in the area, stated that the company should have announced a public competition. The Antimonopoly Office rejected CPI's first complaint last year, and according to today's findings from the E15 newspaper, the filed appeal has now also been rejected.

"Another economic analysis is being processed to ensure we are completely confident. I estimate that it could be signed sometime in June," Scheinherr told ČTK. He added that from the city's perspective, there is nothing preventing the signing now, and it is just a matter of agreeing with the partner on the signing. "I am very glad that the antimonopoly office supported us in the appeal process and that it confirms the correctness of our steps," he added.

The DPP's actions were criticized last year by the United Forces for Prague (TOP 09 and STAN) and opposition parties in the Prague Assembly. In this context, the company had two additional legal analyses prepared, which, according to the company's management representatives, confirmed the correctness of the procedure. DPP's CEO Petr Witowski previously stated that a similar model of cooperation should be used in the future for the development of other metro stations, as the company's management considers it the best way to leverage assets, which is common abroad.
