Architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was commissioned by the wealthy and open-minded couple Grete and Fritz Tugendhat to bring their utopian social vision to life. The documentary tells the changing history of the house, built in 1929/30, and its residents, who were intimately connected to the house in very specific and personal ways. In addition to the members of the Tugendhat family and former residents of the house, art historians and restorers who have contributed to the restoration of this unique object in recent years also share their insights.
