Horní Ředice - Horní Ředice in the Pardubice region want to move a 19th-century chapel near road I/36 by the end of May. Otherwise, there is a risk that due to the construction of a highway access road, it will become inaccessible and gradually disappear. The municipality will receive a grant from the region for the transfer, and the rest will be covered from the budget, as recently decided by the councilors. There is also a newly announced public collection to cover part of the costs. This was stated to ČTK by Mayor Jiří Kosel (Satisfactory Life of Citizens).

The chapel stands near road I/36, and after the construction of the access road to D35 from Časů to Holic, it will be difficult for people to reach it due to vehicle traffic, and there is a risk that the monument from the first half of the 19th century will deteriorate and gradually vanish. The municipality unsuccessfully negotiated with the Directorate of Roads and Highways to cover the transfer costs. The region eventually promised a 600,000 koruna grant if the municipality moves the chapel within the first half of this year.

"We did not cause the entire situation; it arose from the oversight of the Directorate of Roads and Highways that a brick chapel stands in the path of that construction. The municipal council decided that it would cover the remaining amount from the Pardubice region. However, we don’t know exactly how much it will be, as the company has preliminarily estimated the transfer at 900,000 koruna, but that does not include foundations and other requirements that need to be adjusted on the land,” Kosel said.

The costs are currently uncertain, and the access road to the chapel must also be factored in. The relocation of the chapel may ultimately cost more. Therefore, the municipality has announced a collection so that people have the opportunity to contribute to the expenses. "We would like to find out if our citizens also want to join this action. The grant from the Pardubice region implies that we have to carry out this action in the first half of this year. Preparations should take place in April, and by the end of May we would like to have the relocation completed,” Kosel stated.

The chapel dates back to 1836, and the municipality has repaired it in the past. They want to move it to a curve near road I/36, where there is a memorial for the Seven Years' War and memorials for people who died there in accidents. Four linden trees grow there, and the municipality will plant additional trees. Due to the construction of the highway access road, trees had to be cut down; the replacement planting could take place near the chapel, Kosel added.
