The Deputy Mayor of the capital city of Prague, Petra Kolínská, the representative of the mayor of Prague 6, Martin Polách, and the Prague architect Štěpán Toman from Ting Architects will present updates on the concept of future changes to Vítězné náměstí in the Prague neighborhood of Dejvice this Friday.
Both local politicians, along with architect Toman, recently visited London and met with leading London architects who designed the concept for the changes to Trafalgar Square, among other projects, and are behind many changes currently reshaping London and its approach to public spaces.
The changes taking place in London serve as an interesting inspiration for the process of announcing a competition for Vítězné náměstí. "It was enlightening for us to go through the entire transformation process of a large square like Trafalgar Square. The experiences from the completed project, which can be evaluated in retrospect, are invaluable. We were aware of the potential pitfalls of our project and clarified what to pay attention to," said architect Štěpán Toman from Ting Architects.
At Friday's presentation of the updates, Martin Polách, the representative of Prague 6, will also announce the results of a participatory survey regarding how the residents of Prague 6, who live in the vicinity of Kulaťák, view the planned transformation.
