Jevíčko - Jevíčko in Svitavy will repair the dilapidated cinema building within three years. The repairs are expected to cost approximately 30 million crowns. The building will become a modern cultural center. Dušan Pávek (Our Jevíčko), the mayor, told the ČTK.

"We are using the building of the former cinema, which no longer shows films, as a cultural facility. We are completing the project for its reconstruction. We will create a multifunctional hall for concerts, theater performances, and film screenings,"
Pávek said.

The building was built during the First Republic and was renovated in the 1960s to allow films to be shown there. However, it does not meet today's requirements for holding cultural events. The city estimates the cost at 30 million crowns and will attempt to obtain grants for the repairs.

“This is a total reconstruction from the floor to the roof. Due to fire and safety regulations, the number of seats will be reduced from 260 to 200. The entrance hall will include a café, social facilities, and changing rooms. There will be changing rooms for performers, and we will build a smaller hall for the needs of local associations,” Pávek stated.

The former cinema in Horní Jelení, Pardubice, also plans to undergo repairs for 30 million crowns. In the autumn, it will apply to the Ministry for Regional Development for grants. Concerts, theater performances, and film screenings will also take place in the reconstructed building, and the representatives will hold meetings there. The center will be named after native Emil Martinec, who was an expert on customs issues during the First Republic.
