Kladno - Kladno has completed another tender for the repairs of the city theater, which has been delayed by more than two years. The city selected a new selection committee and reassessed the results of the June tender. The tender with the lowest bid of 91 million crowns was once again won by the construction company CGM Czech, which also won the contract in June. Mayor Dan Jiránek (ODS) told journalists today. The period for possible appeals is currently underway. According to Jiránek, construction work could begin in November. The city only finalized the tender process in the middle of this year. However, it then had to address an objection from one of the unsuccessful companies and now had to amend some of the tender conditions and repeat the tender. The decision was made by the office administering European grants, which the city wants to use to cover most of the costs. "The new committee requested each candidate for the public contract to confirm their bids and reevaluate the bids," said Jiránek. According to him, the companies now have 15 days to appeal. "Since we have met all the conditions, we hope that there will be no further problems," added Jiránek. The repairs to the theater were originally supposed to start two years ago. However, regional officials first returned the city's application for European funding for revision, thus postponing it to last year. But the city had to cancel the first tender for the reconstruction due to a police investigation, announce a new tender, causing the repairs to be delayed until this year. The new tender has also been delayed. "Most of the work will be done inside, so it doesn't really matter whether it starts in November or December," stated Jiránek today. The delays have caused problems for the theater troupe, which has been performing in temporary accommodations for the third consecutive season. The reconstruction of the city theater, directed by architect David Vávra, will include a complete modernization of the building, an expansion with a café with a multifunctional hall and an alternative stage. The building will be equipped with modern technology, new utility networks, and above all, modern stage technology. The stage and auditorium will undergo a fundamental transformation.
