Pardubice - The pools of the Cihelna swimming facility in Pardubice are filled and ready for the start of the summer season. It was closed since the 2022 season, and after modernization, the city is preparing to open it in July. Roman Mokrý from Agrostav Pardubice, which carried out the construction work, told ČTK.

"We are prepared for handover to the city, we have a date on June 28. Nothing will prevent operation at all. We are satisfied. All pools have been filled with water for 14 days, there are no leaks. The water is treated, samples are coming out well. All technology is running as it should. The water is at 21 degrees, it's almost ready for swimming," said Mokrý.

The construction company has been working on the modernization of the swimming facility since December 2022. Its task was to modernize the pools and circuits around the stands and terraces, as well as the technological background. It also repaired the showers, changing rooms, and restrooms.

The pools have stainless steel sheets with a reinforced membrane instead of foil, and the edges are covered with tiles. The company also replaced ladders, diving boards, and fencing of the clean zone. The slides and chutes remain original; they are polished, and their steel structures are painted.

Other parts of the complex were not included in the contract. The dining zone with a buffet and the play areas of the complex with a playground and golf have not been modernized. The city hall plans to repair them for the upcoming season, aiming for everything to be complete by 2025. The city also approved hundreds of thousands of crowns for tree care this year.

After the end of this year's summer season, the construction company will take over the swimming facility again. "Once the season is over, the city should hand it back to us. We will address any cosmetic issues that arise during operation," Mokrý said.
