Lanškroun

Lanškroun - Lanškroun in the Orlickoústecký region is returning to the postponed project from 2018, when it wanted to build a sports hall. The clubs do not have adequate facilities, so the city hall has decided to construct the hall if it receives a grant, stated Mayor Radim Vetchý (Lanškrounské fórum).

The city has completed an architectural study. The building could be located in close proximity to the ice rink, Bóža Modrý Hall. Visually, it is intended to consist of two interlocked cubes. The higher part of the hall should offer a multifunctional playing area with a grandstand and storage rooms. The smaller structure will be for changing rooms, a foyer, and technical facilities.

Sports clubs that operate in the city cannot host league matches. The hall will have parameters suitable for higher competitions. It will be suitable for volleyball, floorball, basketball, futsal, or handball. The changing rooms will accommodate 90 athletes. The spectator stand is expected to have a capacity of 200 seats.

In front of the hall, a paved area and an infiltration retention basin will be created. At the back of the hall, there will be grass. The surroundings of the building will be complemented by a row of linden trees. Between the hall and the alley, there will be a parking lot for 25 cars.

"The sports hall project aims to solve the long-standing problem of the city with inadequate facilities for sports. We will now actively seek to obtain a grant for the construction of this sports facility so that our youth athletes can train and play at home in Lanškroun, in front of their fans and parents," said Vetchý.

The estimated cost is 64 million crowns excluding VAT. Outdoor modifications, including the parking lot, will cost 6.7 million crowns excluding VAT. The city is preparing a grant application; without it, the sports hall will not be constructed, Vetchý added.
