Hronov

Hronov - Today, in Hronov in the Náchod region, people had the opportunity to view the renovated First Republic town hall for the first time. There was great interest in touring the interior spaces, said the mayor of the six-thousand-strong town, Petr Koleta (ANO), to ČTK today. The renovation of the town hall in the center of Hronov, which cost 57 million crowns, has been completed. The municipal office is expected to start operating in the newly renovated building in July.

"In the first hour, at least 200 people came to see the town hall, an enormous interest, mostly positive feedback. The event is still ongoing, and people are satisfied. I did not expect such interest," Koleta told ČTK around 4:00 PM today.

Before the renovation, the building from the 1930s housed not only the municipal office but also a hotel and a restaurant with a wine bar. However, it will now only accommodate the municipal office. Before the renovation, it was spread across several locations in the town.

Approximately 30 city employees, including management and municipal police officers, will work in the renovated building. Before the reconstruction, the town hall had to resolve where to temporarily relocate the officials. Some moved to the former premises of the Komerční banka in the square, and the rest to the Kalinův dům.

The renovation began in January 2021 and lasted for 16 months; it is now continuing with the furnishing of the building. "At the end of June and the beginning of July, we will be relocating the officials. I expect that from July 11, the office will be open to the public. The municipal office will finally be concentrated in one building," Koleta said.

The total costs for modernizing the town hall building, including construction work, furniture, and other expenses, reached 57 million crowns. The construction work itself cost around 53 million. The town received a grant of 20 million crowns.
